Nokia E6 & X7 Preview

Last week on Friday, I was honour to be invited to attend a preview of the upcoming Nokia E6 & X7.

Nokia strengthens the smartphone portfolio with these new 2 products and introduced a renewed user experience, Symbian Anna OS.

The event was held at Ali Yaa Restaurant & Bar.


Mr. Glen Cha from Nokia Malaysia showed us and explained in-depth of the Nokia E6 & X7 to us.


Nokia X7 introduces a new entertainment device for mobile gamers that runs on the latest update of Symbian software.

The Symbian Anna update is the first of a series of enhancements and has been driven almost entirely by consumer feedback. The update also includes new icons, a potrait on-screen QWERTY keypad, and a new web browser.

The Nokia X7 is an entertainment-focused smartphone with a large 4" AMOLED superior display with scratch resistant glass windows that delivers the highest quality of visual enjoyment and keeping in touch with your friends on social networks.


It's made of high quality material with stainless steel and glass.



Nokia X7 is able to capture brilliant images and shoot videos in HD with it's 8MP camera with dual LED flash.



It's also preloaded Free Walk & Drive navigation with the latest Ovi Maps.


Storage is expandable up to 32GB on microSD.


Nokia E6, a compact QWERTY with touch device aimed at business users. It offers faster operation with the touch screen and keyboard system that allowed busy emailer rejoice, get much faster text-entry and navigate through options with the touchscreen or thumbpad.

Nokie E6 comes with a brilliant bright 2.46" capacitive LCD with resolution of 640 x 480 pixel and built with tough gorilla glass.


It's has 8GB of internal memory and support microSD cards up to 32GB. Great connectivity available on this device such as Pentaband 2G/3G network support for world travellers, WiFi 802.11b/g/n & Bluetooth V3.0 with stereo headphone support. Beside that it support USB On-The-Go (which firstly introduced in Nokia N8) and AV-out for connection to a TV or headphone.

8 megapixel camera eDoF is at the back of the device that has a dual LED flash, 2X digital zoom and offers HD 720p video recording at 25fps.



Nokia E6 will be powered with Symbian Anna as the same with Nokia X7 and comes with free global walk and drive navigation throught Ovi Maps, Push email and IM.

It's also bundled QuickOffice, World Traveler, JoikuSpot Premium and F-Secure Mobile Security softwares.




Nokia X7
Pros  : Large 4" AMOLED screen, USB On-The-Go, Ovi Maps
Cons : No TV Output/HDMI/FM Transmitter, eDoF camera

Nokia E6
Pros  : Physical QWERTY & Touch Screen, USB On-The-Go, Free JoikoSpot Premium, QuickOffice, F-Secure Mobile Security.
Cons : eDoF camera


Nokia X7 comes with 2 colours, Dark Steel & Light Steel. The price yet to announced  by Nokia Malaysia.

As for Nokia E6, it's comes with Black & Silver colours and the RRP price will be MYR 1155 only.

Wow! That's Wonderful!! as far as I know Anna is the latest version of Symbian phones. People who are looking for the first symbian Anna phones including me, is the great news for them.I hope we would be able to get our hands on this pretty soon.

Adobe Flash is a poorly coded piece of garbage. You only need to look at how smooth HTML5 and QT are before realizing it has no place on a mobile phone. The quicker manufacturers abandon Flash, the better.
