Last week I went to Kuchai Lama to hunt for good foods.

There's an unique restaurant was highly recommended that sell wanton mee. The speciality of this restaurant was the home-made noodle that made with bamboo stick. The noodles they made are very different from others and it's very chewy and tasty.

The outside of the restaurant.

The environment inside of the restaurant.

this is my wanton mee.

ordered side dish of pan fried minced pork. Taste not bad.

I believe some of you guys faced this problem, where to eat ah? what to eat ah?

Expensive Lunch

Posted by Anonymous |

Attention! This post might offended some minority. Apologise if offended.

There was a time, when I was in primary school. A classmate's dad of mine brought us for lunch near Jalan Alor. We had chicken rice with char siew.

You know what? The char siew that I had was super nice that it hardly for me to forget the taste. It's melted straight away in my mouth with "Mak Nga Thong" covered over it. I dun know what to call in it in english. Enlighten me if you does.

That why some chinese parent would use the word char siew to scold at their's children. "I rather give birth to a Char Siew than you" I can feel the power of char siew. XD

Ok! Let's me carry on. Last Monday I took leave to renew my car insurance and wanted to have lunch with YY. So I decided to go to the restaurant that I had the unforgettable char siew at Jalan Tengkat near Jalan Tung Shin.

The restaurant's name is Meng Kee Char Siew. Even Ho Chiak, the famous local foods hunter segment on 8TV also features this restaurant.

I have ordered chicken rice with char siew for 2 person and added bean sprout.

The char siew.

Hmmm... there's no more taste like those time. It taste totally different, like normal chicken char siew rice that you can get it anywhere but then there's still alot ppl queued up to eat. I guess once a restaurant got some recognition everything changed, not to better but to average.

It's ain't cheap and quite disappointed.

The post didn't end here. I got a free gift after lunch.

Hahaha! Actually it was like this, I was looking for parking and then there was a slot for me to park in and it's very near to the restaurant. Yes! It's on the yellow line and I know it's illegal but then all the cars was parking like that. So I dun bother lor so I parked

Then ler there's an indian dude asked for money as he collecting the money from the so called parking, so I give him RM2 and I proceed to the restaurant. While I'm in the middle of eating, there are some peoples shouted summons oh! summons oh! so I quickly go out.

Then the Indian dude was there, here's the most regret part. He told me "is ok one, no need move the car, they only summons the opposite road one" I was tooooooooo dumb to trust him and I went in to continue my lunch.

There go, I got the ticket from the enforcement, thanks to the indian dude and he flew away when I got my car. Sigh!

It's a really expensive lunch.

Do You Love White Cottons? | Know more about RON95

Posted by Anonymous |

I do! I love to see them floating on the air moving gently.

Few weeks ago, our air was covered with haze like we are like in India. The past 2 days the sky was crying every hour, till yesterday the sky was clear and blue. The floating sheep was maneuvering smoothly around the sky. That was the time my hand got itchy.

I snapped picture whenever I got the chance while I’m driving. Yes! I listen that, it’s dangerous. What to do? I’m a member of Siao gang, can die for photos. lolz!

Actually I was quite disappointed with the camera on my phone. The images are totally sux to the max as it’s like a 2.0 mp camera with no intelligence in images processing.

I do miss my Nokia N95, it really served me well. Check out this “Morning till Dawn” post that taken with N95 on my previous post, it’s a superb quality.

I just pumped the new petrol that proposed by the government, RON95. Actually there is no more RON97 in the Petronas that I pumped, all changed to RON95 only. I guess they are accumulating all the RON97 petrol and release it when the price announced RM2.00 on the 1st of September.

What does RON mean? What is the number mean?

RON is stand for Research Octane Number, the octane rating of gasoline tells you how much the fuel can be compressed before spontaneously ignites

The higher octane rating are more resistant towards detonation or premature ignition that can lead to engine damages. If your engine is RON92, pumping RON95 or RON97 petrol doesn't make any different.

Conclusion is the higher RON doesn't make your car become a sport car or increased in horsepower. Higher RON is powerful only on certain performance engines.

So check for yourself in your car's booklet to see what's your car engine supported petrol.

Tenji | District 9

Posted by Anonymous |

I just back from Tenji Japanese Buffet at Solaris, Mont Kiara. Celebrating my dear dear, Yoke Yee's B'day (in advance 2 days) with our bunch of friends

More photos of Tenji on coming post.

Finally I had the chance to watch District 9.

Has been hearing some good and bad feedbacks from those who watched. So decided to head to cinema to know better by myself.

The story is about a normal human being Wilkus Van De Merwe who works for a government organization that is directed to evict the aliens to move them to a new location said to be better than District 9.

During the eviction process, Wilkus found a harmless-looking metal that he accidentally turned and sprayed a "fluid" into his face that causes him to go through a gradual transformation from human to become alien. That's the central of the movie.

Rate 8/10. I found that the shooting and elucidation of District 9 is quite special. Combination of documentary-like footages, news reels and action sequences. It created a very good impact and impression that it really happened. This probably the best sci-fi movie for 2009.

The gunning and explosion of the human and the alien doesn't puke me off, it's more like a watermelon got exploded. XD
Some fluid / spaceship petrol can turned a normal human to alien? lol.

Pixar's UP | Finally

Posted by Anonymous |

Yesterday night attended a movie premier screening of Pixar's UP by Nuffnang at Pavilion.

This movie is about an adventure of a 78 year old balloon salesman Carl Fredericksen, who finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties over thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America.

The plan was tainted when he found out a 8 year old Wilderness Explorer, Russell accidentally hopped on his house and the story go on.

Surprisingly the storyline of this movie is so touching and YY cried like a baby TWICE! Haha!

Rate 8.5/10

Finally I have received the RM199 voucher that I have won from MyFM 2 months back. Woots!

G.I. Joe - The Rise of Cobra

Posted by Anonymous |

Yesterday night attended a special screening of G.I. Joe in GSC Signature, The Garden by Samsung Mobile. Thank you to Rames for tagged me along for the movie.

Actually this is my first time watching movie in GSC Signature, my first time watching in Premier Class. Hahahah! I do sound like a jakun. XD

I manage to cam-ho with them in the cinema. Rames look so not ready, Wilson look so shock, Jen look so happy and I look handsome. XP Kidding kidding.

BTW do you guys think I can submit this photo for the Got X, Got Friends photo wall contest to win myself a Xbox 360 or a Blackberry Storm or luckily enought to get myself travel with Pop Shuvit to Japan?

The movie was very nice, the explosions, the damages created, the technology weapons but then the CG seem abit too much and make it look abit fake. You can feel the green background is there. lol! Overall is nice!

Rate 8/10 BTW! I'm gonna watch again 2nite with my gf. My gf's company got the free tickets and it was confirmed few days back. G.I. Joe here I come again. lol!

The Wok

Posted by Anonymous |

A week plus ago me and my colleague went for lunch at The Wok. It is a Penang Nyonya cuisine cafe located at Kota Damansara.

Know this cafe from CWKen's blog and decided to pay a visit there since it's nearby my office.

The interior of the cafe looks vintage with all the antiques posed around the cafe.

This is my Har Mee or known as Prawn Noodle!

Penang foods of course not to miss, Char Kuey Teow.

They have this nyonya chendol taste not bad.

The foods there are nice and the enviroment is quite comfortable. Price is slightly higher. Overall a good place to dine in.

Interested to pay a visit? View the map on the name card.
