Review : Nokia XpressMusic 5800

I believe some of you guys might have know, Nokia lately has launched its 1st touch screen phone based on Symbian S60 5th generation platform.

I'm quite a Nokia Symbian phones fans, used it's 1st bulky, slow, with weird keypad position and small memory storage Nokia 3650 based S60 1st to the present XpressMusic 5800 S60 5th.

As some of you know, previously I was using Nokia N95, it was a fame with it powerful multimedia functions that can work like a computer do. The camera was superb

Contains in the Nokia XpressMusic 5800 package;

Nokia XpressMusic 5800,
USB Data Cable,
Handfree with Multimedia Control
TV-out cable (RCA)
Stand for videos/photos viewing
Plectrum Stylus
An extra pen stylus
Installation CD
8GB micro SD card
Case
1000 songs download*

Screen
It has a 3.2" 16 million colours with resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. A 16:9 ratio / nHD view shown on the screen.

Memory
About 90Mb storage available on phone memory and up to 16GB memory supported with micro SDHS.

Keys Input
On the right handside of the phone, there's a lock/unlock slider that I found quite convinience for left/right handed. Follow by camera button and volume buttons.

A media bar introduced with one-touch quick and easy to all favourite media on the top of the screen.

There are variety of input methods for texting needs, handwriting, QWERTY and alphanumeric keypads, it can be input either via finger touch or stylus.

Music
Althought it doesn't have the loudess speaker but it does play crystal clear surround sound with it integrated speakers. Quality as priority.

Camera
A 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics for images and videos capturing. A VGA camera in-built in front of the phone for video calling purposes.

Navigation
An advanced A-GPS with SiRF III built-in for quick satelites lock. Nokia Maps 2.0 Touch are pre-installed for the navigation purposes.

Connectivity
3.5G/HSDPA up to 3.6mbps data tranfers with the Telco Service Provider

Bluetooth V2.0 with A2DP audio supported.

A 802.11b/g wireless built-in. A great tools for those who love surfing the web, blogging, e-mailing, and more while on the move.

Accelerometer
Accelerometer embedded for gaming control, images rotation, silence flip and alarm snooze control.

Share
OVI. A new technology introduced by Nokia for images/videos upload and sharing all around the world. Added with MySpace.

Some bugs that I discovered
During an incoming call by a contact with caller image the ringtone will jerk due by image loading.
Sensibility of the accelerometer was too high.
Memory card that store messages will become undetectable when hot swapped/removed.

Pros
A great phone full with rich features. All in one multimedia embedded.
nHD 16:9 ratio wide screen video capturing.
Stable Operation System S60 5th, had never failed to execute applications. No more battery pull-out case due by hang.
A very useful media bar.
Inteligent Proximity Sensor for screen turn off.
Great web navigation interface.
Affordable price Rm1499 RRP with its features.

Cons
Slow response/sluggish maybe due by slow processor 369MHz/low RAM 128MB.
Unmature applications available in the market.
No warning alert sound for unanswered call/unread sms.
Low quality of images and videos capture filled with alot noise.
Missing Barcode Scanner software.
